By Design Build Adventure
When a bandana isn’t just a bandana: a square of printed, hand-dyed indigo from Jack Sanders’ Design Build Adventure. For the unfamiliar, Sanders is a tough-to-compartmentalize Austin artist/designer, who regards with equal sincerity large-scale building projects as he does his role as founder of beloved Austin sandlot baseball team the Texas Playboys. No matter the medium, a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration underwrites all of Sanders’ projects, and this custom bandana is no exception. With a design inspired by one of Sanders’ artworks of the West Texas sky, the bandana was created from Folk Fibers’s native Texas indigo dye and printed by artists Alex Huninghake and Parker Keyes. And naturally — it was all made by hand at The Long Time, the multipurpose East Austin outdoor space that’s also HQ for the Playboys’ baseball home turf.
